Penang Bridge Jammed!!!

It took me 1 hr and 40 mins to reach home!!!
Can you imagine it's a nightmare when comes to Friday.
Husband and I left the office at 6.30pm due to heavy workload, and guess what time we reached home??

Yup, exactly!!
We reached home at 8pm+.... there wasn't any accident on the bridge, and people are driving very slow and motorbikes are driving in between the cars.

Well, tell me will that help if you expand the bridge without discipline drivers how to drive on the bridge??

It's getting real annoying with this jammed, and honestly, we have not been seeing any updates on the 2nd link as well.

After the Friday jam, yesterday The Star paper started to publish some updates on the bridge expansion. Well, deadline when?? When would be the date and time that we need not to suffer???

I remember clearly that there's a news on proposing heavy vehicle are not allow to drive on certain time frame, is this being approved by the Federal?? If not, then why?

The driving limit on the bridge will help to reduce car accident or increase car accident? I shall leave it to the readers to judge then....

*sigh* .... I honestly hate Friday!!!

Damm shit.. but better than you, I took just 75 minutes.. :-)

Not to speculate, I wonder if the current bridge expansion is the actual agenda or instead repairing is in progress.

Let's google it to read more articles about bridge expansion works procedure and we should know better.

Ar... 2nd Link. Just forget about it. It is addressing the future traffic, not now, but at least after 5 years time - let's wait for another another general election to announce on the good news. And... 2nd link... increase our burden - more expensive comparing to the current RM5.60 due to its longer distance. And of course, more petrol fuel consumption. Helping Petronas.. may be Petronas can set up its Petrol Stations at each end on both directions.

Well, what to do? We work for the MNC Companies, and MNC Companies boosts the Penang Economy, and Penang Economy helps the Malaysia Economy with more than 30% of the overall Country GDP. But what?

Just five words to Penang kia - "JANGAN BISING, TIADA PILIHAN LAIN"

Unless, government changes the Capital from Putrajaya to Penang's Georgetown, and all Government officials live in Seberang Perai. Then, another five words to Penang kia - "BEBERAPA JAMBATAN AKAN DIBINA SEKARANG"

Goto this link:-http://thestar.com.my/metro/story.asp?file=/2007/10/6/north/18982318&sec=North

UEM Builders Bhd managing director Datuk Ridza Abdoh Salleh confirmed that almost 45% of the piling work for the RM585mil Penang Bridge widening project has been completed and UEM Construction Sdn Bhd is confident of completing the entire project by Sept 22 next year - a period of 143 weeks.

Seems this is a good news.. but really hopefully it can be completed by Sept next year...

My friend from BW who works in PG always tell me that she has to leave exactly at 5.30pm to avoid jam. If she leaves 30minutes later, she gonna take forever to reach home...heheh. so, next time u gotta make sure u leave ur office exactly at 5.30pm.

Hi BB Community, thks for dropping by. Hope to see you often.

Hi Wilson, one question... do you think the project will complete on time? Plus all the inspection?? Even so, there will be anticipated teething problems to solve even it's complete.

Hi Stranger-Online, 5.30pm is too late liao... the best is 4.45pm. Only if you could get to work as early as 7am. That's to comply the 8 working hours.

Hi Cat Cat, ya la... now only you baru tahu kah?? Getting worst nowadays!! Driving 60/km on the bridge it's like snailing.

hey new kid, if our dear Sammy Vellu said can, then can lor..

Do you remember after the tsunami incident, our dear Mr.Vellu assured everyone that the Penang Bridge was safe to use after their engineers' "VISUAL INSPECTION."

Yeah... the Penang bridge jam thingy is some common SHIT that have been going on for ages and apparently those who can act on it are asleep.

First, the toll plaza... jam shit in mornings and evenings, needless to mention Fridays and holidays.

Then going up the bridge from mainland... that darn bottle neck thingy...

Then the heavy vehicles driving on both lanes!!

Then going up the midspan... heavy vehicles slow down... and everyone else tailing them...

Then getting on the bridge from Bayan Lepas area - real shit.

The same goes to midspan towards mainland...

No need to mention accidents... jam for dam shit sure!

And there was a time... heavy traffic on the bridge... took us like 45 mins to cross... only to get stuck on mainland just next to the toll... police road block... and that was midnight!!!

Welcome to Penang. Get used to it.
