After a raining day in Westin Langkawi

While we were enjoying our spa, outside was raining heavily. And we both know that we will not have any chance to dip into the beautiful infinity pool. Thus, we went back to our room and have a good rest.

After the rain stopped, we walked out again to enjoy the scenery one more time before we leave for home tomorrow.
It’s always beautiful and nice when you’re in holiday mood, everything seems to be very nice and beautiful to your eyes. Well, true enough that everything to us is so wonderful.
We took a long walk to the one bedroom villa which Westin has established. In fact, this hotel formerly was named Sheraton Perdana Resort and it’s also the same hotel group as Westin too, that’s Starwood. And was told formerly they do not have one bedroom villa only recent years they start to have it for their customers.
After a heavy rain, everything is like an artist’s paint, so beautiful, so misty. No wonder, many couples like to have a walk at the beach, look at serenity environment. It’s so tranquillity.

Penang's 2 Mega Projects Shelved

When Federal Government shelved 2 mega projects for Penang, the PORR (Penang Outer Ring Road) & Monorail; I was thinking this would definitely affecting Penang’s economy growth. Not only that, but also accommodate to the global recession as well.

What makes me commenting that? Well, we had long lunch today with some friends, and got to know from their point of view about the State Government.

With the 2 projects being shelved and State Government do not have the fund in contributing to such mega projects that will woo away lots of foreign investors. First, we can’t compete with other countries like China, Vietnam, Laos, etc for cheaper labour. Neither can we compete with our neighbour Singapore in terms of incentives. When there was a crisis in 1997, Singapore Government immediately changes their policy as well as giving more incentives to the investors in investing to their country. Look at them now, you will see financial consulting, biotech, biochem, hi-tech companies are investing their other nest down there. But what about us in Penang??

With these few Multi-national companies, how many more could be given the job opportunities to the people here? Bear in mind, the jobs here do not offer to only Penangites, but also other states like Ipohan, Kedahan, Kelantanese and so on.

I’ve read an article before, manufacturing in Penang States contribute a major percentage in our country’s revenue. If they do not treasure this golden egg, honestly, one of these days they will lose this shine.

Not to say anything far, just think back in year 1997 crisis, or the later 2000 internet bubble burst. Were there couple of Multi-national moved out from Penang? If the State & the Federal is not working hand-in-hand to save the country but to focus on other petty petty stuff, am sure the Rakyat will suffer.

Cuz, we are not able to compete with the neighbouring countries. Right?

I have not studied Economy before, thus I don’t quite sure how the economy works. But, if our country could help to deflate the current inflation (which they claimed it’s only 5%), perhaps many of us would go thru such hard time. If our currency is strong, perhaps we could be like our neighbouring country, Singapore.

But do you notice, whenever we want to travel overseas, we ought to think twice, as our currency is so small compare to country like Singapore, US, Europe, Aussie, Kiwi, etc. If, Malaysia Ringgit could strengthen a bit more, perhaps, things would change.

Heavenly Spa, Westin Langkawi

After our quick lunch in Kuah Town, we returned the car rental to the company and requested them to send us back to the hotel which is only 3 minutes drive. Kind enough they were voluntary sending us back.

We pack our swim suit; get ready to attend our Spa appointment which has scheduled at 1pm. When we reached the lobby, the buggy was ready to send us their Heavenly Spa.

When we reached the Heavenly Spa, it doesn’t give me the impression like what I had in Pangkor Laut Resort. Anyway, I told myself, I shouldn’t keep benchmarking Spa Village of Pangkor Laut Resort. I should start fresh in my mind that this could be another round of heaven service.

We chose the Heavenly Package that costs RM460 for about 2.5hours. And this package is consists of Luxury Kese (75mins) and their famous Heavenly Massage (80mins).

Luxury Kese is actually a traditional Turkish Hamam bathing treatment designed to deeply exfoliate the skin leaving it soft, smooth and radiant. The ritual begins with kese scrubs followed by a natural olive soap body cleanser. ~ Heavenly Spa, Westin Langkawi.

Heavenly Massage is a delicacy sensory experience. It started with a soothing heat pack to release tensions, followed by a delightful aromatherapy remedy. It’s a massage from head to toe. ~ Heavenly Spa, Westin Langkawi.

Luxury Kese will be held outdoor where we lied down on a ‘marble bed’ and the therapist will help to scrub all over our body even our toe. But if this is Turkish Hamam bath, that should be some kind of steam bath that we’ll be having. This is what I read from Wikipedia. But this doesn’t happen to us, as the therapist only scrub our body and using warm water to wash out the dirt or whatsoever.

We took it as a different experience apart from Spa Village.

After that, they will lead us to a room where we could relax for about 10 to 15 minutes after the bath. Then after, we’ll proceed with the Heavenly Massage.

I saw them heat up the massage oil, if am not mistaken its lavender oil. Lavender oil has the effect of tranquilizing or calming a person’s stress, tensions, and so on. They will start from toe and all the way up to our shoulder and neck, that took about 80 minutes for the entire process.

Many will fall asleep when massage took place, cuz, it really relaxing a person’s body and mind. It helps a lot when a person under tremendous stress. When we were done with that, the therapist advised us not to bath for at least 30 minutes, let the oil stay still on our body. So that it continues to calm down a person’s mind.

They also offer pre-natal massage to pregnant women as well, according to them, it’s a very soft touch and also it helps pregnant women to ease their mind.

Personally, I still find Spa Village has the better treatment compared to Westin, and of course not to miss their Malay Bath, Japanese Bath, Herbal Warm Bath, Shanghai Scrub and Foot Pounding. And all these are complimentary for any guests that enrol any treatment in Spa Village. But, in Westin, nothing was given complimentary. So sad.

Anyway, we both really had a good relax one though this is a different experience for us.

Petrol Stations Decline Credit Cards

Petrol stations decline credit cards
The Petroleum Dealers Association has sent notices to its 3,500 members nationwide, advising them to accept only cash from motorists who fill up their tanks from today.Association president Abdul Wahid Bidin said following the increase in fuel prices, petrol station operators could no longer be burdened by the charges imposed on them by credit card companies."It is a business decision. After the fuel price hike, petrol station operators have to cut costs."

When I read this news from NST online I didn’t know they take immediate effective. When my mom called me, I thought it was my credit card problem again.

Thus, I left work early and to find out was the news true, as I was able to pay by credit card when I pumped petrol this morning.

When I went to Caltex, I saw all the notices showing CASH SAHAJA / CASH ONLY, my hearth immediately sunk. I just wonder, will this burden lots of citizens? And how many can pay RM50 for only few kilometers? And how many will have good saving plans like what elf had commented in my other post.

A bad hair day

Don’t know what happen to me today, today has been really down, feels so miserable, and also kind of sensitive too. I even made a decision for not having one after so many months of trying. Everything to me is so messy, everything to me is not able to achieve, just very negative.

Well, this is definitely not any cycle of the month ~ PMS. I am just hoping, there’s no PMS for this month. Am sure Little Inbox knows what am I referring to.

I know I am giving myself lots of pressure, but, can’t blame me for that, right?

Since today ain’t a day for me, I left the office on the dot and drive all the way down town to have a hair cut.

Spending 2 hours on the chair and leaving to them to simply cut my hair.

Well, I feel much better now. Perhaps it’s just another bad hair day, I supposed?

The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa

After breakfast, have a slow walk within the hotel is something relaxing. I need not to say about the hotel surrounding.

You could see a private jetty that belongs to the hotel.
A building like a small bungalow that is 2 bedrooms villa for the hotel guests.
Greeneries around the hotel… this is really nice to walk around with your love one. Right?
They have an infinity pool that over looking the Andaman Sea and the private jetty.
As well as a baby pool. Honestly, I’ve not seen such a big baby pool before. Guess the toddlers must happy swimming down there.

I’ll tell more on the Spa experience. Stay tune!!!

Four Season Resort, Langkawi

Hubby and I are inspired by Four Season Resort’s serenity in their resorts, regardless in any countries. In fact, they have one resort in Langkawi and it was open for business sometime 7 to 8 years ago (if am not mistaken).

Since the recent trip to Langkawi was meant for a short break for both of us, we decided to drive all the way to Tanjung Rhu to visit this luxury resort.

Their resort is located at Tanjung Rhu, famous of its white satin sands and tranquillity ambience. It’s a half an hour drive from Kuah town to Tanjung Rhu, along the way, you can see other tourist spot like Galeri Perdana, Telaga Air Hangat and Barn Thai too.

When we reach the resort, we both were so impressed and immediately fell in love with it. And, you wouldn’t be surprised not to see any Asians in this resort.

We also have obtained a few packages from Four Season and we find it it’s worth the value for it. Especially the Spa Serenity Package that costs RM7500 for Lower Malaleuca Pavilion, RM8250 for Upper Malaleuca Pavilion and Beach Villa for RM18750. All these packages includes of round trip airport transfer, welcome drinks, fresh fruit upon arrival, daily breakfast for two, one 120 minutes signature treatment, one 60 minutes signature treatment of their choice, exclusive spa gifts for two, and many others more.

Oh ya, their pavilion for the lowest category cost USD540 per night, and that’s equivalent to RM1890. It gives us a shock when we enquired before we decided to go for a short break.

But honestly, if you could afford, I would encourage you to spend the money in overseas. I know they have another new resort that’s going to be opening soon, and that will be Bora Bora. A romantic heaven!!

Well, here are some pictures that I would like to share with you….
